Hello, my name is Andy Ives. I am a journalist, writer, and illustrator based in London.

While I'm a city boy (middle aged man) by accident of birth, my heart is always happiest in nature and wild places. I believe the sound of wind in leaves has such a profoundly therapeutic effect on our minds because we evolved beneath tree branches. My brain gets itchy if I spend too long without hearing it. 

Desk-bound daydreams of life in a forest turned into world building, and after a while that imaginary forest became a real place in my mind. Saltuswood Gap is an account of those daydreams and forest fantasies. 

All of my artwork is made by hand. Sometimes I use old school pen and ink, other times digital tools like Clip Studio Paint. But it's all human-made. I never use gen A.I.
